Bertha Melia (Nee: Polakowski), 92, passed away at home with her loving family by her side on Monday, November 4, 2019.
She was born in Bayonne where she resided for 87 years before moving to Edison to live with her daughter.
Bertha worked in the credit union for Maxwell House Coffee of Hoboken for over 10 years. She was a member of the seniors group at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Bayonne.
Bertha was predeceased by her husband Thaddeus Wojtowicz and her second husband Nicholas Melia and her brother Chester Polakowski.
Loving mother of Deborah Mauro. Cherished grandmother of Nicole, Danielle and Alexa Mauro.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the S. Fryczynski & Son Funeral Home, Bayonne.
A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 12 p.m. from the Parish of St. John Paul II at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Bayonne.
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
