Alfred J. Betsworth

Alfred J. Betsworth, 70, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Bayonne Medical Center.  He was born in Gulfport Mississippi and resided in Bayonne his entire life.  He was a retired bus driver having worked for Red & Tan, Drogin and Academy Bus Lines.  After his retirement he continued to drive for the Broadway Bus Company and the PAL Daycare Center, both of Bayonne.
He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Helen (Nee: Stillger) Betsworth.
Alfred was the beloved husband of Catherine (Nee: Spengler) Betsworth.  Loving father of Kelly Betsworth and Susan Mallardi.  Cherished grandfather of Stephen Mallardi.  Dear friend of Stephen Mallardi Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the S. Fryczynski & Son Funeral Home, Bayonne.  A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Our Lady of Assumption Church, Bayonne.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to the PAL Daycare Center, 550 Ave. A, Bayonne, N.J. 07002.
