Bernard Hilinsky, 79, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Winter Park Hospital, Winter Park, Florida. Bernie was visiting his family in Florida for the holidays.
He was born in Bayonne where he resided until moving to Bricktown 21 years ago. Bernie was a retired salesman for the plastics division of the Exxon Corporation of Linden where he worked for 32 years. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Bernie was a life member of the Mt. Carmel Lyceum Club of Bayonne.
He is predeceased by his son William Hilinsky and his sisters, Rita Andreyczak, Lorraine Molina, Dorothy Boyle and Eleanor Zeglenski.
Bernie is the beloved husband of 58 years to Joan (Gardner) Hilinsky. Loving father of Paula Matos and her husband David, Lisa Alexander and her husband Mark and Richard Hilinsky and his wife Sissy. Dear grandfather to Kristina, Danny, Tracy, Krystle, Brian, Christopher, Michael, Kerri, Bonnie and Dayna. Cherished brother of William Hilinsky. Also survived by 4 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the S. Fryczynski & Son Funeral Home, Bayonne. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Bayonne. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148-0142, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
