Bernard Mc Gavin 87, passed away at home with his loving family by his side on Thursday, March 3, 2022. He was born in Detroit Michigan to the late William and Dolores Mc Gavin and resided in Jersey City for many years.
He worked as a counselor and educator at Covenant House in New York City for 25 years before retiring. Bernard was a founding member of Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft. He was a member of the Arlington Players Club in Kearny for 35 years and was a private tennis instructor in Lincoln Park in Jersey City.
Beloved friend of Joann O'Connor Perez and her husband Ivan. Loving father of Brian O'Connor and wife Gladys and Crecentia Brodeur and husband John. Dear grandfather of Alejandra, Antonio, Nicolas, Alexis, Abigale, Brianna, Gianna and Joseph and great-grandfather of Cloe. Cherished brother of Michael and Thomas Mc Gavin, Janice Haskins, Kathy Devine, Karen Verniglio, Shirley Wilson and the late Barbara Fabian. Terence Mc Gavin and Dolores Roach.
