Bernard M. Trainor, 92, of Bayonne, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the Bayonne Medical Center. He was born in Jersey City and was a lifelong Bayonne resident. He served his country proudly in the Army Air Corps during WWII. He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad which became Conrail, he was a foreman when he retired after 42 years. He also worked a second job as a truck driver for Wolleyhan Trucking for 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus council 371 and the American Legion Post #165.
He was predeceased by his siblings; Catherine Carr, Marie Schell, Eleanor O'Keefe, Michael and John Trainor.
Beloved husband of Helen (Nee: Raskowski) Trainor. Loving father of Bernard M. Jr. and his wife Jodi, Mary Ellen Cerbone, Kathleen LoCascio and her husband Ronald, Michael and his wife Barbara and Anthony Trainor. Dear grandfather of Kimberly, Taryn, Kelly, Erin, Alyson, Bernard, Ciara, Matthew, Jenna, Callie, Joseph, Brooklyn, David and Michael. Cherished great-grandfather of Michael, Ryan, Giuliana and Peyton.
Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the S. Fryczynski & Son Funeral Home, Bayonne. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Henry Church, Bayonne. Interment with military honors will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
