Brendon Joseph Pierson, 86, passed away peacefully in the early hours of October 26, 2018. He was born in Newark on October 8, 1932. Brendon served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean war on the USS Baltimore. He attended Newark College of Engineering and Seton Hall University. An accomplished dental technician, Brendon left the employ of others to open Pierson Labs, Inc. in Bayonne, which served dentists and their patients throughout the Bayonne Community and Hudson County for over 40 years. He sponsored many youth and civic groups throughout Bayonne, and was a proud supporter of the Adult and Children Handicapped Organizations.
Brendon was a steadfast fan and proud supporter of his children and grandchildren with their sporting, academic, extra-curricular and, later, business and professional ventures. An avid reader of histories and biographies and supporter of many charities, Brendon was perhaps the most genial, gentlemanly, giving and genuinely curious person that any of us are likely to encounter. Those lucky enough to have encountered him all feel blessed.
He was predeceased by his brother and sister James and Caroline Pierson.
Brendon was the loving husband of Geraldine (Nee: Maclosky) Pierson, father of Michael Pierson, Brendon Jr. (Peggy) and Monica Flynn (James). Grandfather of Amanda, Brendon III and Erica Pierson and Justyna, Michael, and Anthony Flynn. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the S. Fryczynski & Son Funeral Home, Bayonne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from the Parish of St. John Paul II at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Bayonne. Cremation will be private.
