Clara Urbanowicz passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012. A lifelong Bayonne resident, Clara was born and died in the house that six generations of her family and countless other relatives called home. Clara was a role model for a family of strong women and the epitome of a matriarch. Everything was a family affair, from Holy Family Academy where Clara was a forward on the basketball team and her daughter, two granddaughters and granddaughter-in-law attended high school to Maidenform where Clara worked, following in her mother's footsteps. Together with Wally, her partner in all things Clara traveled the world, became a conneisseur of fine things including martinis and raised a wonderful tight-knit family who cherished and adored her. Her heart and home were always with family, friends and especially Wally. Clara was a very active member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, where she was the president of Mount Carmel Seniors; a member of the Rosary and Altar Societies and Mount Carmel Guild; Eucharistic Minister; a member of the Bingo committee and the Ministers of Hospitality for Mount Carmel Church; former president of the PTA of Mount Carmel School; and a member of both the Rutkowski Association and Parish Council.
Clara was predeceased by her beloved husband of 67 years Walter "Wally" "The Polish Falcon" Urbanowicz.
She is the loving mother of Rita Howley and her husband Joe and Don Urbanowicz and his wife Mary Ellen.  Dear grandmother of John (Karen) Conway, Stephanie (John) Gillespie, Kristen Howley, Dan, Ellen and David Urbanowicz.  Cherished great-grandmother of Brian, Kevin, Jack, Katie, Kelly and Hannah.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Viewing on Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the S.
