Edward T. Miskewitz, 88, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Rahway N.J.
He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked for Western Electric of Kearny for 44 years, retiring as a shipping supervisor. Edward and his late wife Claire owned and operated the 16th Street Laundromat in Bayonne for many years.
He was a member of the AT&T Telephone Pioneers of America, a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 371 of Bayonne and was a Trustee of his Parish, St. Michael and St. Joseph RC Church, Bayonne.
Edward was predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years Claire (nee Conklin) Miskewitz and his siblings, Anthony, Adam, John, Julius and Ann Miskewitz, Mary and Eva Wright.
He is the loving father of Rich Miskewitz and his wife Eileen and Regina Miskewitz. Dear grandfather of Alexandra Rose.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the S. Fryczynski & Son Funeral Home, Bayonne. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael and St. Joseph RC Church, Bayonne.
Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington .In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Deborah Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 820, Browns Mills, N.J 08015.
