George Haschak, 84, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Bayonne Medical Center.  He was born in Bayonne and was a lifelong resident.

He was an avid softball player back in his day.  He played in the AA league and the Brotherhood league in Bayonne.  He retired as a transportation manager for Atlantic Metal Products Inc. of Springfield where he worked for 28 years, prior he was employed by Scovill Manufacturing of Newark for over 25 years.

He was predeceased by his siblings; Joseph Haschak, John Haschak and Mary Drogan.

Beloved husband of Violette E. (Nee: Smith) Haschak, loving father of David Haschak and his fiance Barbara Silva and Deborah Durak and her husband Peter.  Dear grandfather of Matthew and his wife Shannon, Alyssa and Danielle.  Cherished great-grandfather of Ava.  Also survived by his faithful canine companion Mugsy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Tuesday (Today) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the S. Fryczynski & Son Funeral Home, Bayonne.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 10:45 a.m. at St. Henry's R.C. Church, Bayonne.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O.
