Gilbert H Mayer

Gilbert H. Mayer, 74, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the Bayonne Medical Center.  He was born in Jersey City and resided in Bayonne for most of his life.  He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force.  He retired from Conrail as a Terminal Manager in South Kearny after 42 years on the job.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 19 of Bayonne.

Gilbert was predeceased by his beloved wife Florence (Nee: Napolitano) Mayer, his parents Harry and  Eleanor Mayer and his sister Marilyn Williams.

Loving father of Matt Mayer and his wife Audra and Ericka Lyn Mayer and her fiancée John.  Dear grandfather of Anthony Mayer, Alyssa Hoover and Karamia Mayer.  Cherished brother of Rodger Mayer and his wife Jean and Jacqueline Layng and her late husband Edward.

Viewing will be on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Religious Service at 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
