Obituary

Gus “Duke” Snyder, 89, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.  He was born in Jersey City and was a lifelong Bayonne resident.  Gus served his country proudly in the United States Army.  He worked for Preston Trucking of Kearny for many years before retiring in 1998.  Gus was a member of the American Legion Post #19 and the Catholic War Veterans Our Lady of Assumption Post #12.
He was predeceased by his parents Gustav and Winifred Snyder and his siblings John Snyder and his wife Barbara and Rosemary Boyle and her husband Daniel.
Beloved husband of Janet (Nee; Ryan) Snyder.  Dear father of Walter M. Rogers and his wife Yesenia and Thomas F. Rogers. Cherished grandfather of Ryan and Lucas Rogers. Devoted brother of Herbert Snyder and his wife Margaret.  Also survived by his nieces Colleen Farley, Kerri Ashe and Kathy Beebe and nephews John, Herbert and Jeffrey Snyder.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the S. Fryczynski & Son Funeral Home, Bayonne.  A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. from the Parish of the Blessed Miriam Teresa Demjanovich at St. Andrew Church, Bayonne Interment Military Honors will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
