Harold E. "Harry" Schlenker, 84, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at
the N.J. Veterans Memorial Home at Menlo Park.
He was born in Bayonne where he resided until moving to Bricktown 16 years
ago. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the
Korean War. He was a life member of the Bayonne chapter of Deborah
Hospital. He was a congregant of the Brick Presbyterian Church and former
member of the Grace Lutheran Church of Bayonne. He was a production operator for Best Foods of Bayonne, where he was
employed for over 45 years, retiring 16 years ago
Harold was predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years Joan (Nee: Gerken)
Schlenker.
Loving father of Donna Gizzi and her husband Joseph. Dear grandfather of
Nicole Elise and Samantha Rae. Cherished cousin of Herman L. Brockman.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Tuesday April
16, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the S. Fryczynski
& Son Funeral Home, 32-34 East 22nd Street, Bayonne. A Religious Service
will be held at the funeral home at 3:00 p.m., Pastor Doug Chase
officiating. Interment will be on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 12:30 p.m.
at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery,
Wrightstown, N.J.
