Helen "Halina" Theresa Russo, loving- loyal- wife of 56 years to Michael Louis Russo Sr. Two children Deborah and Michael Jr. Halina lived in Bayonne 68 years. Known as proprietor of Broadway Wigs for 35 years. Eldest of 4 siblings, Mother in law to Paul Joseph and step grandmother to Janessa, Sara, Stephen and James, great grandmother to Abigail and Nathan Joseph. She was loved by the entire community of Bayonne who knew her and her big and generous heart. She quietly blessed others who needed a wig while receiving cancer treatments, and donated her time offering card parties at the Hi Hat. She gave without counting the cost and she gave all that she had with love! That was the beautiful person the heart and soul of our mother! One year I as her daughter, decided to plan a Pilgrimage to Our Lady Of Czestochowa in Doylestown Pennsylvania in honor of Mom's Polish Ancestry and a pit stop to the American Shrine of Padre Pio. After venerating his glove, Saint Pio became her favorite go to Saint for intercessory prayer. We even visited the grave site on top of the hill of our deceased loved ones buried there to rest in Doylestown. Mom raved over that wonderful experience for years every time we spoke on the phone. My fondest memory with my mom was asking her to be my matron of honor thirty years ago, she and dad spent three weeks on Key Colony Beach and their lives were never the same, once their toes touched the coral sand, they were hooked, line, and sinker! They both fell in love with the tropical warm weather and picturesque big blue beautiful sky. They enjoyed a wonderful new start during retirement fishing for fresh snapper, walking the old seven mile bridge, looking for tarpon and manta rays jumping-- was ever the sight to see! I am most thankful for the gift of my mother and the legacy of love she imprinted on my life. I love you mom.
