Irene Hadden (Nee: Zurawski), 90, of Jersey City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at The House of The Good Sheppard in Hackettstown, N.J. She was a hard working woman from the time she was Rosie the Riveter to the day she retired at the age of 72. She was born in Bayonne and resided in Jersey City for most of her life. She worked at the airport in Linden during WWII and later was a quality control worker for local factories. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling in the local leagues and was an avid bingo player.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Charles Hadden, her siblings; Frank, Joseph, John, Angela Latko, Helen Szostecki and her son-in-law Dante Gallo.
Loving mother of Mitchell Hadden, Barbara Gallo and Karen Burke and her husband Jay. Dear grandmother of Dante, Charles, Michael, Joseph, Timothy, Amanda and Katie. Great-grandmother of Carter and Adam.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the S. Fryczynski & Son Funeral Home, Bayonne. A Funeral Mass will be offerd on Monday, May 7, 2012, 10:;00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Bayonne. Interment will follow at Cold Spring Cemetery, Cold Spring, N.Y.
