Joan M. (Szablewski) Lapinski

Joan M. Lapinski (Nee: Szablewski), 77, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 7, 2016. She was born in Jersey City and was a lifelong resident of Bayonne. Years ago Joan worked for the Faberge’ Company as a sales coordinator. The highlight of her Faberge’ career was escorting Cary Grant for the company to a Gala event in Las Vegas, Nevada. Later in her career she was the office manager for the Nicaretta Construction Company of Bayonne until her retirement. She was a member of the Concerned Citizens of Bayonne and the Avenue B Senior Citizens Center where she participated in many senior activities. Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband John “Butch”, her parents John and Stella Wodecki and her sister Eleanor Shablewski. Loving mother of JoAnn Phillips and Janet Bollhardt. Cherished grandmother of Lenny Bollhardt and his wife Victoria, Lauren Phillips and her fiance’ Chris DellaSerra, Stephen Phillips and his companion Megan Reinhardsen and Samantha Anderson and her fiance’ Joshua Payne. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the S. Fryczynski & Son Funeral Home, 32-34 East 22nd Street, Bayonne. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Paul II Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
