John R. Carey Sr., 87, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the Bayonne Medical Center with family by his side. John, a lifelong Bayonne resident, proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was employed at Bayonne Plumbing Supply for 35 years.
He was predeceased by his first wife Lorraine (Nee: Stemkowski) Carey.
Loving husband of Evelyn (Nee: Markowski) Carey. Dear brother of Florence Baxter. Cherished father of Deborah Wanko and her husband Stephen, John Carey, Donna Antice and her husband Joseph and Edward Falinski and his wife Carol. Grandfather of Lauren Petronko and her husband Nick, Lindsay Wanko, Michelle Youncofski and her husband Rob, Christopher Antice, Julia Carey, Ryan Carey and his wife Elizabeth. Great-grandfather of Landon Petronko, Isabella and Alianna Carey. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the S. Fryczynski & Son Funeral Home, Bayonne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. from the parish of St. John Paul II at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery, Kearny N.J.
