John D. "Butch" Lapinski, 76, a lifelong Bayonne resident, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at the Bayonne Medical Center.
He was an ironworker for Local #399 of Camden for over 40 years retiring 10 years ago. He served his counry proudly in the United States Airforce. He was a member of the concerned citizens of Bayonne and a life member of the Mt. Carmel Lyceum. He was an avid bowler in the local leagues and once bowled a perfect 300 game. He enjoyed his 1965 pink Cadillac and he loved to go crabbing on his boat whenever he could.
He was predeceased by his siblings; Casimir and Raymond Lapinski and Dolores Young.
He was the beloved husband of Joan (Nee: Shablewski) Lapinski. Loving father of JoAnn Phillips and her husband Steve and Janet Bollhardt. Dear grandfather of Lenny Bollhardt, Lauren and Stephen Phillips and Samantha Anderson. Cherished brother of Richard "Bob" Lapinski. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass on Monday 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Bayonne. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to th Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163.
