Joseph J. Kowalczyk Jr., 77, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at his home in Bayonne. Joseph was born in Germany and resided in Bayonne for most of his life. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Joseph worked for the Difeo Car Dealership in Jersey City as a service advisor for over 30 years. In his free time he umpired men’s softball games in Bayonne for many years.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Juliette (Nee: Cote) Kowalczyk and his parents Joseph and Eugenia Kowalczyk Sr.
Loving father of Kim Chimento and Cynthia Ruth and her husband Keith. Cherished grandfather of Jared Chimento, Cody and Austin Ruth. Dear brother of Henry Kowalczyk and his wife Geri, Eugene Kowalczyk and his wife Carol and Richard Kowalczyk and his deceased wife Maria.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the S. Fryczynski & Son Funeral Home, Bayonne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 1st, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. from the Parish of St. John Paul II at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Bayonne. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
