Joyce (Mackiewicz) Collins

Joyce Collins (Nee: Mackiewicz ), 64, passed away on Friday,  June 17, 2022 after a very brief illness with her loving family by her side.  She was born in Bayonne to Edward Mackiewicz and the late Helen (Nee: McLaughlin).  She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from St. Peter’s University.  Joyce was the assistant director of human resources for St. Peter’s University and later returned to her dream job of teaching for the Bayonne Board of Education at the Lincoln Community School for the past 20 years.  
Joyce is survived by her husband Robert Collins.  Loving mother of Joseph Collins and his wife Jenna and Lisa Amadeo and her husband Peter.  Her whole world revolved around her beloved grandchildren Matthew, Ava, and Nicholas Amadeo and Grace Collins.  Dear sister of James Mackiewicz and his wife Nadene, Edward Mackiewicz and his wife Cindy, Cathy Lipyanka, Helen Whitney and her late husband Brian and Susan Mitchell and her husband Daniel. Sister-in-law of Annette and her late husband Ronald Collins.   Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.  Joyce touched the lives of so many, and her love will be carried on by all who knew her.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew RC Church, Bayonne.  Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
