Louis J. Base

Louis J. Base, 95, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at the Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains.  Louis was born in Bayonne and was a lifelong resident.  He served his country proudly in the United States Airforce during the Vietnam War.  Louis was an airplane mechanic for Pan Am Airlines for many years.

He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Caroline Baszczewski and his siblings Peter Barron, Andy Puzzo, Sophie Szatkiewicz and Francis Base.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home 857 Kennedy Blvd., Bayonne.  A Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 29 East 22nd Street.  Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
