Mildred E. Coseglia (nee:

Schmidt) was called home on Friday March 28, 2014.  Born in Jersey City on May 6, 1923 she walked with the Lord her entire life.  She was married to the love of her life Frank A. Coseglia (a WWII Veteran) for 30 years until his death in 1977.  Mildred was first and foremost a devoted wife and mother.  She was a talented artist and enjoyed working on needlepoint, knitting and crocheting.  Her handmade gifts are cherished by all who were fortunate enough to receive them.  She also loved  to cook, bake, read poems and do puzzles.   No matter what she was doing Mildred could always be heard singing, especially hymns.  Her voice was so beautiful that she was nicknamed “The Silver Songbird”.  Mildred is survived by her children: Frances Jankowski (John), Elizabeth Bell (John),  Joanne Nagy (Richard) and Richard Coseglia (Dodie).  Her grandchildren: Jacqueline, John, John Michael, Catherine, Jennifer, Richard Jr., Frankie and her step-grandchild Richard Jr.  Her great-grandchildren: Amanda, Claire, Julia, Nathan, William, Jakob, Tessa, Kyler, Antonio, Jaxon and soon to be born Isabella.  Her nephew: Charles Schmidt Jr. (Donna).  She was also predeceased by her son Joseph who died at birth and her brother Charles Schmidt.

Visitation: Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the  

S. Fryczynski & Son Funeral Home, Bayonne, (201) 339-1692.  

Religious services at the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m., Pastor Joseph Basile of the Grace Bible Fellowship officiating.  Interment:  Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
