On Wednesday, March 30, 2022, a spectacular and greatly loved young man went to soar with the angels. Nicholas Anthony Bissel, born May 25, 1989, was the kind of man whose energy and magnetic smile lit up any room he walked into. Nick graduated Raritan High School, Hazlet NJ and attended the University of Miami, The University of the Arts and The Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater. To say he was a Renaissance Man is an understatement. Nick never feared any new or bold venture- there was little he would not do and pursue with unbridled enthusiasm. He was first and foremost an artist which was something that was not just his passion but a calling at which he excelled. He was a talented graphic designer and owner of Mortukum, a Creative Services Agency, a gifted cake artist who enterprised the popular Twisted Whisk Bakery almost exclusively online. Nick was an actor and a songwriter/singer and possibly the best friend a person could have. There was no favor too big to ask. He was blessed with the rare ability to be direct and sincere whenever he saw a friend in need of honesty and direction. He also helped strangers working arduously as a volunteer EMT with the Hazlet First Aid Squad . Nick always was a gentleman and showed us all what a class act is.
Perhaps more than anything, Nick was a family man. He embraced his family with his whole heart and in many ways they helped define him. He was a loving son to Ann Marie and Michael Bissel and a dedicated brother to his brother Jude and sister Kristina. Nick may have been at his very best and most loving with his niece- his heart - Kristina’s daughter, Elysia.
Nick’s happy place was being one with nature and now all of the sky is his playground, surrounded by stars that shine almost as brightly as he. We will all be looking up Nicky.
Nick is survived by his parents Ann Marie and Michael, his brother Jude Vincent, his sister Kristina, niece Elysia, his partner Stephen Blazejewski, his grandmother Anna DeSalvo and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins along with a countless circle of friends
