Rose (Giglia) Roses

Rose Roses (Nee: Giglia) "GIG" passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2014 at her home in Bayonne.  Born in Jersey City, Rose resided in Bayonne for most of her life. Rose was a member of the Office and Professional Employees International Union Local 20 since 1953 when she was employed by Maidenform, Inc.  Rose demonstrated extraordinary leadership and dedication to her co-workers while serving as Shop Steward or 25 years.  The membership promoted her to their highest position, President in 1978.  Rose served in this capacity for 15 years where she was instrumental in bringing improved wages, pension, holidays, vacation and health and welfare benefits to her co-workers.  Her commitment to her fellow workers and the Union exceeded 40 years of outstanding service.  She loved to serve and defend her fellow workers and friends in their time of need.  Rose married Paul Roses,  the love of her life in 1955.  They meet each other in 7th grade.  This beautiful union gave them three outstanding children.

Rose was predeceased by her beloved husband Paul M. Roses, her sister Adeline DelPriore and her grandson Nicholas Gonzales.

Loving mother of Dr. Paul Roses and his wife Maryann, Susan Roses-Gonzales and her husband Dr. Charles and Dr. Toniann Roses-Sottile and her husband Dr. Dean.  Dear grandmother of Bianca, Daniel and GianLuca Roses, Joseph and Michael Gonzales and Ariana and Jovanni Sottile.  Cherished sister of Connie Pona.  Also survived by many nieces, nephews and godchildren.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the S. Fryczynski & Son Funeral Home, Bayonne.  A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Bayonne.  Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
