Stephen W. Sabo, 58, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013 at his home in Bayonne. He was born in Jersey City where he lived until moving to Bayonne at the age of 14.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy Submarine service. While on Naval service in Japan he taught karate to US Naval personal. He was a student of karate master Dan Nagle and his only student who taught in the Japanese main islands. He was a 6th degree black belt.
Stephen was a security specialist, karate instructor, former federal agent, fleet security officer for the merchant marine and former federal police officer.
He was predeceased by his parents Stephen and Eileen (Nee: Fitzgerald) Sabo and his sister Susan Sabo.
Beloved husband of Caroline (Nee: Hundley) Sabo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Viewing on Wednesday (Today) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the S. Fryczynski & Son Funeral Home, Bayonne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:45 a.m. at St. Andrew's R.C. Church, Bayonne. Committal services with military honors will follow at Rosehill Crematory, Linden. Stephen's ashes will be inurned at a future date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
