Thomas Zuber, 62, beloved resident of Bayonne, NJ, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2016. Thomas dedicated his life to making a difference and helping those around him. He worked as a teacher for 25 years in Hillside and Elizabeth, NJ, while continuing his education. He proudly graduated with a Masters in Education from Farleigh Dickinson University in 2003. He is most well-known for pioneering the Shop-Rite work study program at Elizabeth High School, which taught his special-needs students real life skills. Tom was also dedicated to the Boy Scouts of America, where he was the Scout leader for many years. He was a loved member of the former Saint Michael’s and Saint Joseph’s Church and the Knights of Columbus. In his free time, he loved to be surrounded by his family, to fix things that no one else could fix, and watch HGTV. He is predeceased by both his parents John and Lillian Zuber and his two siblings; Gregory Zuber and Andrea Nuber. He is survived by his devoted wife of 13 years, Lori Zuber; His adoring children; Thomas Zuber and his wife Melissa, Daniel Zuber and his wife Antonia, Rhiannon Facchino and her husband Anthony, and Sarah Kavity; His dear uncle; Father Thaddeus Zuber; His brother-in-law; Gerald Nuber and many nieces, nephews and other extended family. His greatest joy were his adoring grandchildren; Lily Kavity-Facchino, Benjamin Zuber, and Alison Zuber. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Viewing on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the S. Fryczynski & Son Funeral Home, Bayonne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. from the Parish of St. John Paul II at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Bayonne. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. “His life was gentle; and the elements so mixed in him, that Nature might stand up and say to all the world; This was a man.” - William Shakespeare.
